Three Things Thursday

1) Dead in the Water
My motivation to run this week has gone through the floor since my 32k on Sunday.   I am chalking it up to just being exhausted from running 45K on the weekend, but I have brought my running clothes to work every day this week with the intention to run...and have not gone. Not once.  Not even walked (well, I did walk about 3k in errands yesterday).  Not even hit the gym.  Just didn't.  It's not that I am hurting from my long runs last feet were sore for a couple of days but beyond that I've felt fine.

Today I have to run - just to make sure I can still do it :P  I'm grateful for a lower mileage weekend this week.  22k sounds like heaven.

2) Crafty Crafty Momma
I am feeling insanely crafty this week.   Particularly for knitting.  I'm happy to see this and have been printing off all kinds of patterns to learn.  This will be the winter I actually learn how to follow them. I'm also happy that I have a group of crafty crafty people at work that I can get together for craft sessions at lunch every week.   It will help me find some balance again.

I'm also busy making bookmarks and tutus for our team's craft sale next weekend.  Hopefully my efforts will help bring in some decent money for the team!

3) Nano Novel
I have been so busy this week that I haven't had a chance to work on my novel at all...the last time I wrote was last Thursday.  Not good.   Of course, I realize that writing a novel in November - possibly the busiest November of my entire life - was a pipe dream.  But I did really want to make a strong effort.

It is still possible for me to finish, though...all I need to do is write 2700 words a day for the rest of the month.  I know it's do-able.  It's just finding the time to do it. If I don't - it's not a big deal.  I can always work on it throughout the year.  I love the idea I am developing.

*** an aside - it's my birthday this weekend and I am so excited about what I have come up with as a way to celebrate being 36 all year long.  I am looking forward to sharing it with you all on Sunday!

Happy Thursday!

How has your motivation been this week?   Does the cooler weather inspire you to get crafty?   Are you writing a nano novel this year?  Share in the comments - I'd love to hear what you are up to!

  1. Props to you for being crafty! Hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating your birthday. Can't wait to hear what you plan to do to celebrate!

  2. We've had fabulous weather on the East Coast this week. Vitamin D is helping me get out of bed for morning runs. It feels so good to get a workout done before work. Feeling like organizing at home and then setting up a jig saw puzzle for the family to work on. I think I may get my birthday present felting kit out and make a few Christmas ornaments too.
PS...It's ok to rest, it will make you that much stronger.
