Three Things Thursday - Blogging To-do List

1)  I haven't really mentioned it here yet, but I am embarking on a nutrition adventure.   My friend, H, is studying to be a nutritionist and was looking for a case study for her module on athletic nutrition.  She thought I might be a good one since I am training for Goofy and will have some specific nutrition needs over the next few months.  So far, I have been trying to bring my eating into line with what she recommended.  Soooo hard.   Even knowing she is peeking at my food journal - there is still a lot of stuff on there I should be smarter about.  This is the first full week and hubby has been away so food prep has not been my big priority.   Next weekend - I am pretty free so I should see a big difference next week as I intend to plan out my meals much better.  I'm sure I'll write more about this in a dedicated post soon.

2) I am totally in love with lunchtime runs.  Now that the temperatures are cooler - it is pure joy to head out the door and pound out fly through 4-5k.  I am still crediting my new shoes - the Kinvaras are so light they just feel like a part of me.  I am going to have to post a review on them soon.

I'm also loving the free evenings.  So much.

So. So much.

3)I had my first TNT conference call with my coaches on Monday.  Not much new info there - and mostly geared toward newbie runners.  But then my whole world was rocked (and not in a good way) when one of the coaches started talking about the shelf life of running shoes and why you should be spending the big bucks for the latest model.  And I always buy one model back to save some moola. GASP! I started to Google, but I think this is something I need to delve into much deeper.  Stay tuned...

Ok - so my 3T has ended up being a blogging to-do list.

  • Kinvara review
  • Shoe Shelf Life
Guess I'd better get cracking...

  1. The nutrition thing is very cool. I'm curious to know more about the shelf life thing. I can't help but wonder if that is propaganda brought out by the shoe manufacturers to keep people spending money though...
