Getting the Antsies Out

All morning, I was on edge.  I couldn't concentrate.  I was nervous and anxious and antsy.  In general, let's just say it was a good thing I am alone in the office this week or it might have been hell for an office mate.

and then I had an epiphany.  There is a whole world outside of my office that I can WALK in.  So, come lunch - I grabbed my phone and my access card and headed out into it.

4k later..I was feeling much better.  Next time, I'll make sure I have proper shoes here since my TOMS aren't great for distance walking.

And - thank goodness for the Nike+ App...I was even able to log it in a way that made it easy to upload to Daily Mile...

Then...later that same day....

It was officially time to get my run on.   On went the shoes and out the door I flew...well, flew might be exaggerating. But at some points it felt like it.  After the first 2k, I decided to pump my arms and push it...and it didn't feel as hard as I thought it would.  My legs seemed to remember what to do.  It wasn't as fast as I might have gone at one point, but it was a marked improvement over other recent runs.   Felt good.

and sweaty...
I only look sour because I can never
get a normal expression on the
self portrait camera on my phone
without feeling like a royal dorkus.

I got in another 5k and cleared my head even more.

All in all - a good day for getting active!  Now, I sleep...
