This week kicked off my actual training and I think it went pretty well, though really made me realize I am still recovering from the K-100. Right now it feels like a significant scale-back since I have been training for endurance events since January!
Pretty tame, but I am grateful for the gentle start. I really want to make sure that I will make it through this training cycle happy and uninjured.
Tuesday: Kicked off training with a 4.5K run. Felt like a constant battle
Wednesday: slacked off
Thursday: Dodged a pending storm to get in 4.5k run
Friday: Slacked off again (at least I'm honest)
Saturday: Took you all on a 5k tour of Langdon
I have also been doing the Armed and Dangerous (from shrinkingjeans.net) workouts with my coworkers everyday, but I don't really count those as real strength training. This week will see me get back on track with getting up early to strength train.
I am still waiting for my online fundraising page to be set up. Oh the joys of registering before everything is ready to go to ensure my spot is secured (there are only a limited number of Goofy spaces reserved for TNT). They tell me the page should be up early this week so I will be posting a link when it is available. I have already raised over $175, personally, toward my goal.
Our team has been focusing on planning our group fundraisers in the meantime. It has been pretty exciting to watch it all come together. Here's what we have on the go right now:
- Cowboys Fundraiser - tonight.
- Magazine Fundraiser - Ongoing.
Total raised for the team to date: $201
***We had some issues with the site late last week, but they are fixed now, in case you are wanting to treat yourself to some magazines***
- Garage Sale Fundraiser

- Bookmarks of Hope - ongoing
I am selling handmade beaded bookmarks (made by me). These elastic bookmarks will ensure you never lose your page again and work on both traditional paper books and with eReader cases. $5 each. There are pictures of the available styles on the facebook page.
- I am also tossing a Toonie into a jar for each workout I complete. So far, that has added up to $6 in the first week...only 26 weeks to go...
