This week started innocently enough. After my super successful MAT appointment last weekend, I was feeling pretty good on Monday. So good, in fact..that I decided to try running.
TOO SOON! TOO SOON!!!
After 2k, my IT band was screaming and I needed to stop and NOW! So I biked. and stretched. And biked and stretched....for the rest of the week. I also researched the heck out of ITBS so I could develop some sort of coping strategy to get me on the road again.
Wednesday night, I decided to just hop on the bike. I was feeling really good after discovering pigeon pose, but didn't want to push it on the treadmill
Thursday was the anniversary of me and Hubby's legal wedding ceremony 5 years ago (we don't celebrate it as our anniversary - we celebrate the Mexico wedding)...so we went out to eat with the girls and I blew the calorie bank. Then I was too exhausted from dealing with a sick Doodle all day that I skipped my workout. Bad momma. But, while I was sitting on my arse watching TV, I did order myself a pair of compression capris! (Did you catch my Thursday post about my week in capris?) Can't wait to try them out!!
Friday I did yoga in anticipation of Saturday
and then there was Saturday...and the long run...that beautiful pain free run through the countryside
I also started to put some planning into a Tweetup for the night before Vancouver Marathon! We've all got to carb-load so why not do it together. Details are still in progress, but you can check out the event on my Facebook page!
So this is what my week looked like:
Monday: run 2k - bike and stretch
Tuesday: Bike 35mins, stretch
Thursday: Being a lazy ass
Friday: Rest Day - yoga
Saturday: Long run
